TRYOUT FAQS
Q: What do I have to bring to tryouts?
A: Please make sure to bring
- Players must wear black shorts, blue or black socks and a white top
- If possible, bring a ball (size 4 for U 12s and below and size 5 for U 13s and up)
- Shin guards
- Water
- your game 😉
Q: There are 2 or more tryout dates posted – do we have to attend all of them?
A: No only attend the date for the age group of your child, as we do anticipate large numbers at tryouts. We do encourage families to attend the tryouts for the appropriate age group to allow players to showcase their talent.
Q: What if my child will be out of town during tryouts?
A: Please email us at ccfc4youth@gmail.com as well as the respective coach with that information. There are no guarantees that a spot will be available, or a player will be invited for a separate tryout.
Q: What if my child wants to play up an age group?
A: Please email us at ccfc4youth@gmail.com as well as the respective coach with that information prior to tryouts. We advise players to TRYOUT with their proper age group. We will grant or decline that request after due consideration.
- General Rule of Thumb here is: No playing up unless …
- there is no team in the players birth year age group
- the player is projected to dominate his/her own age group
- other criteria to be discussed and considered by club leadership
Q: What if I have a question during tryouts?
A: Please ask after the tryout has ended. Preferably though, please email our coaches at ccfc4youth@gmail.com or the respective coach with your question.
Q: How do I know whether my child made the team or not?
A: Players, who have been selected for a team, will be contacted by the head coach after tryouts. Final Team Rosters will be posted here on our website no later than June 30th.
Q: How many players will you pick for my child’s team?
A: That will depend on your child’s age group and whether we will have two teams or only one. There are also roster limits that will help decide how a team is composed
Q: When will the season start?
A: Official Practice Start will be Mid-August / older teams may start earlier
Q: When will my child’s team practice?
A: We won’t know until all teams are finalized. General rule of thumb though…. Players born 2007 or later will practice at 6pm – 7.30 pm. 2006s and older 7.30 pm to 9 pm.
Q: What league will my child’s team compete in?
A: Our teams will participate in various leagues and tournaments across the State of Texas, regionally and Internationally. Our competitive Premier Teams will compete in selected Elite leagues and programs, Participate in GPS/FC Bayern National Team opportunities and International Residence Academies and Year-round national/international showcase opportunities against top national and international academies
Q: How many tournaments will my child’s team participate in?
A: We are aiming for Four to five tournaments per season. The U 14 s and up age groups seek out high profile tournaments where players can be showcased to college
Q: Are payment plans available?
A: Yes, please contact our Operations Manager Jessica at ccfc4youth@gmail.com for more information. If you child is selected to a team you will have the opportunity to use the CCFC Academy payment plan during the registration process by selecting the payment plan option
